Rated 2 out of 5 by from Would not recommend My Mom had 1 of these and I really liked it so I ordered 1 for myself and in just about a year's time it conked out so I upgraded to the yellow thinking it was supposed to be and even higher standard if quality and yet again in just over a year that iron too conked out. They are great when they work but for the price just over 12 months was not a good lifespan. I since purchased a Shark Professional for $50. Got 2 of them to have 1 as a backup and now 3 years later they are both still working. Don't mind spending the higher price but when I do I expect a little more long term endurance.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mixed feelings This is not a lightweight iron. However, you don't have to lift and prop it up every time you are finished ironing each portion. It is convenient in that you can just leave it in place , or slide it out of the way. It takes some time to get used to not propping it up; I have been using irons for about 70 years! My complaint is that it makes a strange noise either when it lowers the legs, or when the legs ascend. I can't describe the noise, but it is annoying. And it does not get hot enough. I have not used the steam feature because I don not trust ANY steam iron. I use a spray bottle to dampen items to be ironed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost perfect I have used this iron for 3 years and really like it. The fact you can lay it flat is great. HOWEVER, about a year ago, it started to LEAK water. Can't figure out exactly what is wrong, and it doesn't leak when I'm holding it and ironing. But when it's sitting, on or off and the water below the max line, it sometimes leaks water and creates a puddle. I use distilled water and rarely use starch. But I always have to make sure I have a small towel or paper towel in case it leaks while sitting on the iron board. Except for that malfunction, it's pretty good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yes, I DO love my iron! I use my Oliso primarily as an important aid to making my quilting blocks look sharp. I also use it for ironing clothing and household items like napkins, pillow cases and table runners. I cannot overstate how much I love the Oliso's main claim to fame: the automatic legs. That is not to say that the other features I look for in an iron are missing. This iron has quick heat, easy to use buttons and quick and powerful steam. And it doesn't hurt that it's pretty! Oh, and another important thing is that this iron has never fallen off my ironing board because of its more stable position while at rest. My cat is not impressed!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Issues from start I won this iron, but had another oliso iron yellow but it had issues until it quit working. I open the blue iron, which had been in the box and started using it. A couple of months after out started acting up. It would raise and lower 3 times and then stop down with a red light on. I had to unplug it, wait a few minutes and plug it back in. The shutoff routine was happening closer and closer together so I just quit using it out of safety concerns. I didn't have a receipt so I didn't bother to send it back wherever it was bought.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this iron I love this iron! It gets hot quickly and I love that I can set it down with the face plate down so that I can't knock it over. A couple of times I had it sitting upright and knocked it over, it's still working great--very sturdy. I love how the water tank is filled an it's extremely easy to see the water level. I've noticed that when the iron is set down with the face plate down repeatedly while ironing, the table surface will get moist from the residual steam from ironing. The only thing I wish it had was the ability to turn off the auto off feature. Sometimes as I'm sewing a garment, I'll have to wait for the iron to heat up again because I took too long between using it. Other than that, I absolutely love my Oliso Smart Iron!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from i want to love it, but... i really want to love this iron, and for the most part i do. but this is my second one with issues. my first had several issues, the most concerning was the sparking out the front end after about 6 mos use. it was replaced under warranty (i had to pay out of pocket to ship the defective one). i’ve had the replacement just under a year now and the automatic feet will randomly go in and out, regardless of if i have them turned on or off. this is how the issues with my original started so i’m hoping things don’t progress. overall, a pretty glitchy machine for the price :(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love Oloiso After the learning curve of not having to put the iron on the “heel”, I found I could easily press new quilted items a little at a time leaving the iron in placeso that I could open places to iron either opening the seams or to one side. I can go back to sewing for a bit and return to press without the iron shutting off so quickly.

I have the TG1050 and my cord was damaged when I got it. Can I get a replacement cord. The store does not have a replacement iron for me. HELP.

Since 2014 I have had 3 olio steam irons. They have all let me down. What makes this newer iron make want to purchase another.

My iron spits out hard white particles when it first heats up. How do I clean it?

To clean the internal steam chamber, begin by heating up your iron, preferably near a sink or drain, and fill the water tank. Then, over the sink, repeatedly press the “Steam Burst” button until water drips heavily out of the bottom of the soleplate. This will remove any mineral deposits that have built up. Why are colors different prices?

Thank you for your question. The blue iron is our TG1050 model, The orchid and gray is our TG1100 model, and the yellow and pink is our TG1600 model. Each model group has a different set of features.

Why not use distilled water in these irons? Does it cause function problems and if so what are they? I was just gifted a new oliso iron with itouch technology and want to make sure I don't injure it by using distilled water.

Thank you for your question. The oliso smart iron requires tap water or bottled spring water, never 100% distilled water. This is because distilled water is so pure that it has the ability to remove minerals from the metals inside the iron, causing premature leakage.
