OLISO® TG1100 SMART IRON (orchid) is rated out of 5 by 330.Rated 3 out of 5 by Dtecokequen from I love the iron I love the technology of the iron going up and down when you hold the handle. I had a problem with the first iron and called customer service. I was promised a replacement. I was advised by customer service that they were out of stock and will ship when the irons came in. It never came when I called back I was told that I waited too long to follow up. Because I really liked the iron I bought a 2nd one it lasted about two years and then stopped working. I am disappointed that the 2nd iron that I invested in and within 2 years the iron stopped working. I have debated about buying a 3 rd but concerned that it may happen againDate published: 2018-04-19Rated 4 out of 5 by Peaceful Quilter from Great Features, but Likely Not for Quilters This is my 4th or 5th Oliso iron in 10 years. Purchased one, it failed and was replaced for free. That failed - leaking - and replaced for 1/2 price twice. For regular ironing, I find it great for regular ironing and that it is less tiring due to not having to lift it upright. As a quilter, though, I might have it on for 2 or 3 hours as I sew and think that it burns out, begins to leak because I use steam and only drain it when I am done sewing for the day. The service from Oliso has been great I have to say and I understand having to pay 1/2 price, but as it has gone up in cost from $100 to nearly $200 dollars in 10 years I really need to find a better one for my needs.Date published: 2018-04-19Rated 5 out of 5 by Jean from Best Iron Ever! I absolutely love my Oliso. I have a longarm quilting business in my home and my iron is always set up and ready for use. Many of my quilters have tried it out and several have bought their own after using mine. It steams perfectly and never spits. The extra long cord is so practical and makes ironing long yardages of fabric easier. I don't have to worry about scorching my fabric since it raises itself up when I take my hand off, It's safer than an iron that has to be stood up because my Oliso can't accidently be knocked over. I even find joy in the sound it makes when it raises itself up and down!Date published: 2018-04-22Rated 2 out of 5 by Pjb49 from Very disappointed The concept of the iron is phenomenal! I loved it so much I purchased another as a backup from Massport. No sooner did I receive the new iron (the yellow model) and my purple one died!!!! I had followed every direction to the letter, only bottled spring water, empty when done...and one day before it was a year old the water in the iron was all over the quilt I was ironing... so to say the least my favorite turned into my least favorite and now I have the next model up hopefully I can get more than 10 months out of this one....I don’t think I could recommend this to a friend with a clear conscious!Date published: 2018-04-26Rated 1 out of 5 by RaeLee from Waste of Money! I am very disappointed in this iron. The gears that lifted the iron stopped working about a month after I got it. No problem - I exchanged it at the store where it was purchased. The second one worked fine for awhile but a couple months ago my daughter accidentally forgot to unplug it when she was done using it. Now it no longer heats. This iron only lasted about 2 years (trying to find the receipt so I can be more specific about the dates (note I registered the first iron shortly after purchase). I'm back to using my 12+ year old iron that has never given me any trouble.Date published: 2018-04-19Rated 5 out of 5 by Cquilter from Best iron I have ever owned...... I have had my smart iron now for two years. I have had many irons over the years. This smart iron is the best steam iron I have ever had, DOES NOT LEAK!!!! I am a quilter too, and a hot iron is so important and most others do not get hot like the old ones did. Well this smart iron gets HOT and irons beautifully. And I think it was genius to add the feature where the iron does not have to sit upright. With just the release of my hand it raises itself up, I LOVE THAT!!!! There is not one single complaint that I have. In my opinion, What's Not To Love! My only wish would be that I wish I could have gotten the pink and white one, but was not available at time. Buy a smart iron, you will love it!Date published: 2018-04-19Rated 5 out of 5 by Lechat from Best invention since the Singer! Love, love, love this iron. I never bought anything that has so paid for itself in pure pleasure. It is as smart as Einstein in its chosen field and copes with every mistake you can make---forgetting to turn it off, forgetting to lift it off the ironing board, forgetting to turn it on and waiting forever for it to heat. None of that ever again! Avid quilters will soon discover that pressing a million seams just becomes fun when the iron lifts itself up the second you let go of it. Everyone who sees it works is entranced...and that includes me!Date published: 2018-04-29Rated 1 out of 5 by mskiti from A great product.....while it lasts I have now owned three Oliso Irons over the past 10 years. The latest being the TG1100. My experience with this product has been less than stellar. It's features of self lifting, excellent heat and steam are wonderful. However, this last iron was purchased April 3, 2017 and stopped working March, 2018. The first two Oliso irons also functioned properly approximately 12 to 18 months, then stopped working. For their cost, this is not acceptable performance and I am finally giving up on them and not purchasing an Oliso again.Date published: 2018-04-19

What are the specific differences between quilters and optimal steam models?Thank you for your question regarding the difference between our TG1100 and TG1600. The main difference is the soleplates. The TG1100 was designed for someone who irons everyday and the TG1600 was designed for the quilters so less holes on the soleplate which provides a extra flat pressing area eliminates dimple impressions in fabric. The TG1600 also has a 12 foot power cord and 30-minute extended auto-shut off for sewers and quilters.Date published: 2018-07-12
What causes the unit to stick in the down position? We are sorry to hear you’re having trouble with your TG1100. We’re happy to inform you that there may be a simple solution to your problem.
