I had a problem with the first iron and called customer service. I was promised a replacement. I was advised by customer service that they were out of stock and will ship when the irons came in. It never came when I called back I was told that I waited too long to follow up. Because I really liked the iron I bought a 2nd one it lasted about two years and then stopped working. I am disappointed that the 2nd iron that I invested in and within 2 years the iron stopped working. I loved it so much I purchased another as a backup from Massport. No sooner did I receive the new iron (the yellow model) and my purple one died!!!! Purchased one, it failed and was replaced for free. That failed - leaking - and replaced for 1/2 price twice. For regular ironing, I find it great for regular ironing and that it is less tiring due to not having to lift it upright. As a quilter, though, I might have it on for 2 or 3 hours as I sew and think that it burns out, begins to leak because I use steam and only drain it when I am done sewing for the day. I am very disappointed in this iron. The gears that lifted the iron stopped working about a month after I got it. No problem - I exchanged it at the store where it was purchased. The second one worked fine for awhile but a couple months ago my daughter accidentally forgot to unplug it when she was done using it. Now it no longer heats. This iron only lasted about 2 years (trying to find the receipt so I can be more specific about the dates (note I registered the first iron shortly after purchase). I have a longarm quilting business in my home and my iron is always set up and ready for use. Many of my quilters have tried it out and several have bought their own after using mine. It steams perfectly and never spits. The extra long cord is so practical and makes ironing long yardages of fabric easier. I don't have to worry about scorching my fabric since it raises itself up when I take my hand off, It's safer than an iron that has to be stood up because my Oliso can't accidently be knocked over. The latest being the TG1100. My experience with this product has been less than stellar. It's features of self lifting, excellent heat and steam are wonderful. I have had my smart iron now for two years. I have had many irons over the years. This smart iron is the best steam iron I have ever had, DOES NOT LEAK!!!! I am a quilter too, and a hot iron is so important and most others do not get hot like the old ones did. Well this smart iron gets HOT and irons beautifully. And I think it was genius to add the feature where the iron does not have to sit upright. With just the release of my hand it raises itself up, I LOVE THAT!!!! There is not one single complaint that I have. In my opinion, What's Not To Love! My only wish would be that I wish I could have gotten the pink and white one, but was not available at time. I did not know I got a version only for USA (125 volt). I bought it through Amazon and gave my adress in Denmark). I connected it to 220 volt and it stopped working very quickly.
