OLISO® TG1100 SMART IRON (orchid) is rated out of 5 by 354.Rated 4 out of 5 by make.create.repeat from Great Iron This is a great iron that I purchased because the one I wanted (Oliso Pro TG1600) was out of stock at the time. While I still wished I’d been able to purchase the Pro, I am pleasantly surprised by this one, plus who doesn’t love this orchid color!? One of the things I miss about the Pro is the weight of it, among other differences. Put it this way, the differences weren’t so great that I’d return this one. One day, down the road, when I need a new iron, I’ll probably go back to the Pro, but until then I’ll keep using this little gem. She’s a keeper.Date published: 2020-03-15Rated 5 out of 5 by LRHM from YES I really wanted the higher end model, but it was not available to order. As I needed the iron and couldn't wait for the TG1600 to be back in stock, I took what I could get. This iron is everything I hoped. It gets hotter than other irons and makes ironing a pleasure. Yes I said pleasure.Date published: 2020-03-24Rated 3 out of 5 by Annie61 from I "like" this iron I began using my iron and it worked great. Shortly after getting it, my granddaughter bumped the ironing board and it crashed to the cement floor. :( It still worked even though some of the plastic housing was cracked, so I continued to use it. THEN, my niece was over learning to sew with me. She went to grab the handle and it "jumped" out of her hand and once again went crashing to the cement floor. (I didn't see it happen.) It still continues to work, even though sometimes water leaks out. I'm going to continue using it until it won't work anymore, or until another fall to the cement floor does it in. The steam button spits out white powder (?) so I only use the spray button. It is extremely hard to empty out the reservoir (or am I missing the obvious?).Date published: 2018-04-25Rated 3 out of 5 by Berta44 from Disappointed I was so looking forward to having an Oliso but I am disappointed in that it is heavier than any other iron and does not take out the wrinkles although it is on the wool setting. The only feature I like is the lifting when pressure is removed. Right now it is just sitting unused in my sewing room. I would like to return it if possible.Date published: 2018-04-19Rated 1 out of 5 by Fanuihl from I’m VERY disappointed! I wish I could give this no stars! I give it one though because when it worked it was cool. I had this iron for JUST over a year. It leaked a bit from the very beginning but it wasn’t bad and I thought I could live with that. Then one day it decided it was not going to heat up any more unless I had it set to it’s highest setting. I can’t believe I wanted this so badly just to be completely let down by it in the end. Now I am back to using my old trusty $30 iron. More expensive is not always a better value.Date published: 2018-04-20Rated 5 out of 5 by Gary from Love it wore out the other one. The best iron to do my ironing with and my other one lasted me more than 9 years. I even dropped it one and it still worked. I highly recommend to empty the iron after each use to prevent the buildup of calcium which is quite common if your city has hard water.Date published: 2019-01-18Rated 5 out of 5 by ConnieT from I love this iron! My Oliso is so great. I saw Jenny Doan using it in her tutorials. “What is that?” I said when I saw it pop up. I played the video again just to watch the iron. I knew I had to have that iron. I looked it up on line and bought it immediately. I live the ease of use it affords. My Oliso provides three levels of steam and presses folded fabric smooth as silk. As a quilter I press a lot of little seams open and my Oliso makes quick work of these repetitive tasks. I highly recommend Oliso to everyone.Date published: 2018-04-19Rated 3 out of 5 by Andrea from Expensive iron! I bought my iron at the Washington state fair in September of 2016. It worked great until about a year later. It would spit water abd not heat up after that year. I have used many irons in the k Last few years and this didn't last any longer than the moderate priced ones like shark. Shark works just as well and half the price. Iwas looking for an iron that would last longer than most and thought this iron was the one. Did not perform long enough to support the cost. Andrea from Pacific waDate published: 2018-04-19Rated 3 out of 5 by Quilter from Not for me After using this iron for only a month, the automated pop-up feature would not work. The manufacturer replaced it for me. The second one exhibited the same problem, but the date to return it had passed. Therefore, I have switched off the lift switch and use it as a regular iron. At times, the “button” on the sole of the iron will partially extend which wrinkles the fabric. I haven’t ruined anything yet, but I am fearful of an irreparable problem. I will soon replace this iron.Date published: 2018-04-19Rated 4 out of 5 by Disappointed from Love the cord length but now it’s on a shelf I love the cord length only wish the water door was in a different place. I could never get all the water out of the iron because of the location. Had to send the first one back after 4 months because it quit working. They replaced it with a used unit that had calcium build up in it. I was not impressed. Being a longarm quilting business owner I was leary of using it in my shop so it now sits on a shelf and is never used. For the price you pay for this iron I would say keep looking.Date published: 2018-04-19Rated 5 out of 5 by Denise from Love it! This is my second Oliso iron, only because I dropped my first one. It makes ironing so easy. I will not own another brand.Date published: 2019-01-13Rated 5 out of 5 by Traudel from My only iron I am a expert quilter and iron all the time. I gave your iron to my daughter and daughter in law. They both love it.Date published: 2018-04-19Rated 5 out of 5 by Andrew’s Bubba from I love, love, love this iron! My grandson got this for me when I started piecing quilt tops. The pop-up feature makes pressing seams a breeze.Date published: 2018-04-20Rated 1 out of 5 by Togaboxer from Stains!! This is my third Oliso iron in as many years, they've all been replaced under warranty. I just got this one a few weeks ago, I've only used it a handful of times and it's already spitting stains onto my fabric. I had the same issue with the last one, but at least I had that one for over a year before it was a problem. I love the automated legs, but I'll probably give up on these. Given the high price tag I would expect better quality, or at least not to ruin my fabric.Date published: 2019-03-28Rated 5 out of 5 by Colleyville Nana from I LOVE YHIS IRON Best quilting tool yet, since the rotary cutter. So much safer, and makes the pressing part easier.Date published: 2018-04-19Rated 5 out of 5 by Gazerro from Love my Oliso Love the shut off process. Don't have to worry about leaving iron on. Water well is easy to fill.Date published: 2018-04-19Rated 5 out of 5 by KAOB from LOVE,LOVE, LOVE IT I love this iron. It takes a few uses to stop the habit of standing your iron on its end and just let it sit flat and let the iron raise up. But once you are used to it, you will see that it actually saves time ironing! The steam setting really works well and this iron gets hot enough to stream out the toughest, long set creases and wrinkles. I don't know how I ever lived without it!! And you can't beat the price from Costco. Came with free ironing board cover too.Date published: 2018-04-19Rated 5 out of 5 by Bobby quilter from Love the color! This is a really great iron! This is my third oliso. My first died in a big storm but was wonderful for 3 years. I bought the same one again. It’s been just as good. I recently bought the orchid one because I love purple, but I wish it had the same smooth plate as the blue one. Although I can’t say anything bad about any oliso iron I have used, I really wish this one had the same plate. I couldn’t do what I do without an oliso and I am a professional quilter.Date published: 2018-04-21Rated 5 out of 5 by KoKO from Love it!!! I don't worry about burning my clothes. Smart Iron ever to be on the marketDate published: 2018-09-24Rated 5 out of 5 by Jersey Girl from Great Iron This iron works very well. It heats up fast and gives out lots of steam. I love the fact that I can just put it down and it raises up on its own. I usually leave it plugged in and on my ironing board in my sewing room. Thank goodness for the automatic shut off feature. That being said, I think the price's for these models are too high. My previous Oliso stopped working after about 2 years and I replaced it with a different model that had a longer cord.Date published: 2018-04-25Rated 4 out of 5 by bluejeanmom from I love this iron It is probably the best iron I have owned. Heats up quickly, steam is effective. Takes a little getting used to the up/down control but come to like it. My only issue is the water tank. It is easy to fill, but unless you use all the water, it is very hard to empty. I don't like leaving water sitting in the tank but it is almost impossible to empty all the way. Regardless, I wouldn't trade. Also have had it a few years and still works like day one.Date published: 2018-04-19Rated 5 out of 5 by FayeB from I love the Oliso Smart Iron!! I can’t say enough about this iron! I have been using it For 14 years. I’m a realtor and I gift this iron to my clients. They also love it. It’ has many built in safety features. We have left the iron on accidentally many many times and it always shuts off on its own. The great feature of not having to lift the iron is very important. It makes my ironing time so much faster. Also, I don’t have to worry about the iron falling off the ironing table.Date published: 2020-03-14Rated 5 out of 5 by Susie from Love it I've had quite a few Oliso irons. They don't seem to last long for someone who irons most clothes for two people, and is a seamstress and quilter. Right now I have two - one for upstairs general ironing the other for my quilting. I recommend them to all my friends but the price scares them away. I hate spending $70.00 and up for an iron that I need to replace every couple of years or less. I do love the way it works but not the prices,.Date published: 2018-04-19Rated 4 out of 5 by mpofoly from Better Iron I like this iron a lot, but have to say it doesn't get very hot. In fact, I turn it to the highest possible setting for all fabrics. That works, but it should get hotter for ironing sheets or other cottons, not that it matters much. All my other irons leaked water, but so far this one hasn't, unless I overfill it. It takes awhile to get used to not having to sit it up, but once you're used to it, it's not a problem.Date published: 2018-04-21Rated 4 out of 5 by mehendi from the good and the not-so-good I love it. Not having to stand the iron upright each time you need to move what you are ironing means that it goes much faster. My husband, however, does not like the noise it makes as it lifts up when you put it down. He does his share of ironing amd it has been over a year we have had this iron but he still can not get used to it. And I wish it would get a little hotter. It is not hot enough to do cotton tablecloths.Date published: 2018-04-20Rated 5 out of 5 by Jeanne C from Best iron I have ever had Had used Oliso in quilting classes and just loved it, but did not want to spend the money for an iron. Kept looking on Amazon until it was a deal of the day and immediately ordered the Oliso. Have used it for over a year, not only for quilting but also for the few things I still iron. I would never have another iron. It heats up quickly, does not spot or leak on steam setting, and presses my quilt piecings quickly.Date published: 2018-04-25Rated 5 out of 5 by janet from Very good iron! I just started having problems with my iron. I have been using it very heavily for the last 18 months for some charity work (sometimes I iron 30-45 yards of fabric at a time). It's still working, and performance improved after cleaning it with white vinegar, but the steam button doesn't work reliably. It's out of warranty now, but customer service offered me a replacement at a great price. I am very pleased.Date published: 2019-06-25Rated 5 out of 5 by Ellie in the NW from The best iron I've ever owned!! As a professional seamstress for 30 years, this iron is remarkable. I don't worry about it scorching delicate materials and at the same time it handles heavy wools and even canvas with ease and efficiency. In particular, I like that it elevates itself from the ironing board when adjusting the article I'm ironing. The ironing board does not get burned and the iron is not subject to falling over. Good design!Date published: 2018-04-19Rated 5 out of 5 by MKGreen from Perfect Iron I was given the Oliso TG1100 iron as a gift. I love this iron. I'm a quilter and wanted an iron that heats up quickly, has auto shut off, and even stem distribution for pressing wrinkled cotton fabric. This iron does it all and more. It took me a short time to get used to leaving the iron in a prone position, but with arthritic hands its ready to go as soon as my hand touches the handle with wrist pain.Date published: 2018-04-25Rated 4 out of 5 by Sally from I have enjoyed this iron very much The Oliso is an amazing iron. I like the fact that when I forget to shut it off it does it for me. It's fast heating and good quality. I have only one complaint, it hurts my hand when at the point of grip. The plastic handle is way to sharp and I had to wrap masking tape around it so it's more comfortable to use for any length of time. I'm a quilter and use the iron for long lengths of time at times.Date published: 2018-04-25
